			Synopsis
Tuesday, June 6, 1944. The Normandy landings begin under the code name “Operation Overlord”.
Besides being a major battle of World War II, it is the largest "media" operation ever organized. Photographers and cameramen are among the first wave of soldiers unloaded onto Juno, Omaha, Utah, Gold, and Sword beaches.
They filmed in the air, at sea, and on land under the direction of great directors such as John Ford and were subject to heavy enemy fire. They would come to forge our collective visual memory of one of the most important moments in our recent history.
