Synopsis

At the age of 2, Tom is already different. He doesn't make eye contact, has a language delay, has inexplicable fits, and is obsessed with kitchen whips, which he plays with for hours. Tom is my son.

After a series of examinations, the diagnosis is made: Tom has an autism spectrum disorder. This marks the beginning of a protracted battle.

Speech and psychomotor therapists, as well as child psychiatrists, see him every week to help him move forward. Surprisingly, his language improves significantly. He starts school accompanied by a dedicated assistant, and although he doesn't play with the other children and is allergic to mathematics, "he manages".
