Synopsis

From 1952 to 1970, Egypt and the Arab world dreamed of becoming one great nation and ruling the Middle East.

When Nasser came to power, Oum Kalthoum, the already famous nationalist diva, began to sing about the ambitions and trials of the Egyptian nation and its Arab brethren in their struggle against Israel.

Even if the dream did not unfold as expected, these two figures united these peoples, at least for a time, around a common ideal.
