Synopsis

Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, son of Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie, is a little-known figure in France's history.

His life began like a fairy tale in the most illustrious castles and palaces. Louis grew up under the public eye; he was one of the most photographed children of his time. As the imperial heir, he was destined to become Napoleon IV but war and exile drove him away from France.

His life was short and came to a tragic end. Enrolled in the British Army, he died at the age of 23 in a fight against the Zulus in South Africa.
