Synopsis

The reign of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, founder of modern Morocco, can be compared to those of Louis XIV or Suleiman the Magnificent.

SECRETS OF HISTORY goes to Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Meknes which the sultan made his capital. The city of a hundred minarets is home to its palace and to a huge underground prison which could hold up to 40,000 prisoners.

Two places usually forbidden to non-Muslims open their doors: the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss where the founding father of Morocco, Idriss I, is buried, and the Quaraouiyine mosque in Fez.
