Synopsis

Eugénie was the last Empress of France. She was Napoleon III's wife but she died in 1920, at the age of 94, feeling unloved and unknown by the French.

Between the lost war of 1870 and World War I, she witnessed the beginnings of aviation and the automobile as well as those of the Lumière brothers and their cinema. She supervised the Haussmann and Garnier major works in Paris and inaugurated the Suez Canal.
