Synopsis

Driven by her thirst for power, Caroline Bonaparte, the youngest sister of Napoleon, achieved great things as a woman and a sovereign, in France and especially in Italy where she ruled from the royal palaces of Naples and Caserta.

This ambitious woman infused modernity when decorating and furnishing her main residence, the Elysée Palace. Her interest in archaeology led her to organize and legislate the famous excavations in Pompeii. Her love for coral produced the most beautiful creations of the time.

Caroline was also a great lover who formed a steady and passionate couple with Joachim Murat, despite each other's infidelities.
