Synopsis

The golden lion tamarin is a small orange monkey with a flaming mane. Over the years, its habitat has been fragmented and reduced to only 10% of its original surface. Now, the population is estimated at about 1,000 individuals.

The Trans-Amazon road cuts the forest from east to west so when comes the mating season, to avoid inbreeding, tamarins have no choice but to take the risk of crossing the highway used mainly by huge speeding trucks.
