Synopsis

In Persian, Punjab means "the land of the five rivers". This state, located in the northwest of India, is the country's breadbasket and one of its wealthiest states.

Although less known and less visited than neighboring Rajasthan, Punjab has a rich cultural heritage resulting from successive invasions by Persians, Greeks, and the British.

This land of the Maharajas is also the birthplace of the Sikh religion and its holy shrine, the Golden Temple. This magnificent building, entirely covered in gold, is located in the heart of Amritsar.
