Synopsis

On June 13, 1989, nine days after the Tiananmen crackdown, Beijing published a list of the “21 most wanted students.” A global manhunt ensued.

Twenty-five years later, these men have become an unexpected reflection of China’s contradictions: they are teachers in the United States, labor activists in Hong Kong, or evangelical pastors.
