Synopsis

While bistros are closing in France, some French people are opening them in the United States.

Since the 1980s, they have been scouring flea markets in France and Belgium to bring back zinc countertops, weathered benches, and vintage signs—and recreate in New York or Miami the kinds of spaces that are disappearing in Paris.
