Synopsis

Thailand is the land of smiles… and fighters.

Created in the 16th century for the soldiers of the Kingdom of Siam, Muay Thai is now the national sport, practiced from childhood and celebrated every night in Bangkok’s legendary stadiums. Feet, fists, elbows, knees: every part of the body is a weapon.

Before each fight, the boxer performs the Ram-muay, a spiritual ritual rooted in Buddhism. Muay Thai is a sacred form of violence at the heart of a deeply pacifist culture.
