Synopsis

Since high school, director Thérèse Shechter has known she didn't want to have children. Supported by her family, she nonetheless wonders how one lives with this choice in a world where motherhood is sanctified.

She reviews decades of natality promotion, witch-hunts, and sterilization refused or forced based on skin color.

She also gives a voice to many "child-free" women, who take pleasure in deconstructing the discourse of triumphant motherhood.
