Synopsis
Maurice Denis's “Beatitudes” are eight paintings and an enigma. Indeed, they were not meant to be displayed, but to adorn the chapel of his priory house. Their destiny shifted when a visionary patron of the arts, Gabriel Thomas, acquired them for his villa.
Behind these canvases lies a man in the shadows who shaped the French cultural landscape. The Grévin Museum, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and even the Eiffel Tower owe him a debt of gratitude.
A tale where art meets architectural genius.
