Synopsis

Kamchatka is a region in the far East of Russia called "the end of the world".

The peninsula lies in the Pacific Ocean and is home to more than 200 volcanoes, about 30 of which are still active. The others are not to be outdone, offering a giant lake of sulfuric acid and fields of fumaroles within lunar landscapes. Neighboring the Arctic Circle, Kamchatka has extreme climatic conditions. The brown bear adapts beautifully here. Indeed, there are in numbers large enough to make the region the world's largest animal reserve.

Kamchatka is the last paradise on earth where a balance is maintained between the fire of the volcanoes and the ice of the ocean.
