Synopsis

In response to the increasing number of hostage-takings in the early 1970s, particularly during the Munich Olympics in 1972, the French police force decided to set up an elite unit specialising in crisis management. The GIGN (Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale) was thus created in 1974. Since then, these men have freed or evacuated over 1,000 people.

This 400 men emblematic unit fights for the defence of our freedoms.
