Synopsis

During the reign of Queen Victoria, from 1837 to 1901, England experienced an unprecedented boom that still defines British society today.

Drawing on the fabulous wealth accumulated throughout the Empire and produced by the Industrial Revolution, the English invented, at that time, the thirst for material well-being, workers' rights, science emancipated from religion, the train, and the weekend at the sea.
