Synopsis

Almir, chief of the Suruí nation in the state of Rondônia in Brazil, has partnered with Google to fight deforestation on his territory in real time. Members of his community use their smartphones to document illegal logging and report it to the relevant authorities. About twenty young people have received digital training on the two computers in the neighboring village.

This report shows how to adopt new tools to defend who we are, rather than lose it.
