Synopsis

More than 400,000 people have fled the war in Sudan to seek refuge in neighboring Chad.

In Adré, a border town, a vast, unsanitary camp has sprung up. Families there survive under shelters made of branches and tarpaulins, with nothing to their name but a pot and a few clothes, sometimes even nothing at all.

Chadian authorities and humanitarian organizations are overwhelmed. Children show signs of malnutrition. The hospital is crowded with gunshot victims. And the hope of returning home fades with each passing day.
