Synopsis

A cable car, a true feat of engineering, connects Chamonix to one of the highest peaks in the French Alps, the Aiguille du Midi. The high mountains are now accessible to all.

This adventure, a risky challenge undertaken in extreme conditions, began in 1904 with a bold plan to connect the valley to this summit, which stands over 3,800 meters above sea level.

To keep it running, today's caretakers battle frost, snow, and wind.
