Synopsis
Magnificent beaches surround Australia, but the most famous of them all is Sydney's Bondi Beach, which owes its name to the Aboriginal word meaning "the sound of the wave that crashes on the rocks".
Its central claim to fame lies in its army of lifeguards that have incessantly patrolled the bay since 1907. Under the paving stones of the Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club lies a page of history.
Bondi's lifeguards and surfers are now world famous, and people come from all around the world to see them in action.
