Synopsis
In 1972, Munich was celebrating the Olympic Games. But everything went awry when, on September 5, the Palestinian organization “Black September” took eleven Israeli athletes hostage, setting what many consider to be the birth date of international terrorism.
With images that are to this day burned into our collective consciousness and with previously unseen archive footage, this series shows how the Middle East conflict is continuing and that the wounds of the victims’ families have still not healed.
Surviving members of the Israeli team, German police officers, and, for the first time ever, the two surviving Palestinian hostage-takers tell their stories.
